Love or Life!
A comedy in six acts
Synopsis
The Queen of England has a score to settle and takes her army to wage war on the King of Scotland. In order to stop the never-ending battles, the Prince of England finally makes a suggestion: He proposes to fight a duel with the King of Scotland. But just before the duel is to take place, he falls madly in love with the Kings daughter. Together with her he tries to stop the military conflict of their parents. To achieve peace, the young lovers have to come up with all sorts of ideas and the comedy picks up speed…
Ingeborg von Zadow wrote Love or Life! for the travelling stage Theater Carnivore in Heidelberg, Germany. The play is based on motives of an historic, anonymous travelling stage play.
